ECS has trained more than 500 new entrants to the gas industry in the past eight years, with a 98 per cent success rate of getting people into work. "Because we offer small class sizes, our training is virtually one-to-one, and therefore the quality can't be matched by many of the larger training organisations." ECS now has three identical franchises: in Bradford, Grimsby and the new one - ECS Gas Training North East Limited - in Shildon.
"Before I accept someone as a franchisee, I carry out a thorough investigation of their background, experience, qualifications and most, importantly, their ability to communicate with people, as this is of paramount importance for a trainer," says Graham.
"Richard, the director of the new centre near Darlington, have been customers of ECS for years and have now completed their Trainer and Assessor Qualifications with us. I am confident they will operate a very successful business and serve the area well," says Graham.

ECS delivers many different gas training courses, including ACS Reassessments for experienced engineers and complete New Entrant Courses. Its most recent addition is a course for plumbers who took short plumbing courses some years ago and now find they can't move on to get their gas qualifications.
